         Jesus Christ who redeems all

Acts 8:26-40
He was led like a sheep to slaughter, and as a lamb before its shearer is silent, so he did not open his mouth. (Acts8:32)
Devotion
In this portion we see that Philip was directed to go to a desert. Sometimes God opens a door of opportunities to His ministers in very unlikely places. We should study to do good to those we come into contact while travelling.
When Philip speaks with the Ethiopian eunuch, God highlights this truth that gospel is for all nations and races. The conversion of a black foreigner proved that Jesus draws all kind of people to Him.
The Ethiopian eunuch came to Jerusalem to worship God but he was unfit to meet God because of his culture, nationality, sexuality and background. So many obstacles stood his way.
Barriers are broken down through the Son of God. Jesus Christ, the redeemer, provides redemption by delivering us from our sins and by giving us freedom from captivity. To redeem means to buy back that has been lost, sold or given away. Because of original sin and our personal sins we were slaves of devil. Jesus Christ paid for our sins on the cross, so that we could be fully accepted by the Father, in spite of who we are. By the surrender of His own flesh andblood he redeems us. (Eph 1: 7)
The Ethiopian began his day with disappointment but he went back rejoicing. Jesus was born to be the savior and redeemer to all mankind. He loves everyone equally and desires that everyone will repent and come to Him.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, you have gone to great lengths to redeem us through your son, Jesus Christ. You invite us into a life of hope, joy and freedom. We have no hope but in you. In Jesus name we pray, Amen
Thought for the Day
Jesus, the redeemer, accepts you the way you are. Accept Him into your life.
