 Give Thanks

Psalm 147:1-11

“Praise ye the LORD: For it is good to sing praises unto our God; For it is pleasant; and praise is comely.”

We live in a world where we think we have control of our lives and our surroundings. Society and technology has given us this train of thought. Of course there are certain things we can control and modify in our daily lives. Some examples of this are what we eat and drink, how we drive, etc.
In this world we live in, we sometimes forget who is in true control. This Bible portion helps us remember that God is in ultimate control and is the one constant no matter how much the world and people change around us. It also reminds of God’s power over creation and the intricacy with which He made it.
This Bible portion also tells us God wants praise and thanks for his blessings and for His son Jesus Christ. In the daily grind of life from maintaining a job to raising a family to all the forms of entertainment we have today, we can forget that God needs our attention also.
As Christians, let us remember who is in control and take sometime daily to give thanks and to be fearful of the Lord and ask for His compassion, grace and mercy on us as we navigate our daily lives.
May God bless us all.

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, we thank You for your blessings and mercies upon us on a daily basis. Please help us to remember what is truly importantly in our daily lives. We give you thanks and praise you for all you have provided. Amen.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
