 Jesus Christ Who Restores

 Revelations 1: 1-8

“”I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty””

The Book of Revelation was written by John, who wrote this book to tell people about a vision he had of Jesus and about “what must soon take place”. In this chapter, John reveals Jesus Christ here on this earth after his sacrifice to us. The first three verses of this scripture displays the unveiling of Christ, and how John was sent to testify what Jesus did here on earth. John begins verse 4, by recognizing that this message was to the seven churches in Asia which represented the universal church. John establishes grace and peace to the reader from God, which displays God’s attitude and relationship status with us. John says that grace and peace is from Jesus and how he was the revelation of God to us. Then John goes to recall how faithful Jesus is and how much he loves us because he has freed us from our sin. Towards verse 7 and 8, John reflects how Jesus Christ will return to claim this world for himself and defeat those who are against him. John reveals that Jesus will return and even those who nailed him onto the cross will see him return. John says in verse 8, that Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega which is basically the beginning and the end.
In this chapter we were able to receive John’s explanation of how Jesus is going to return. This truly revealed to all of us that Christ will return, and will judge all those living in this world. In these eight verses, Jesus Christ is the central figure and establishes his dominion over all. This passage instructs us to warn those that haven’t accepted Christ into their lives that Jesus is coming soon. We must try and help those people and allow them to experience the love of Jesus.

                             Prayer
Heavenly Father-please strengthen us Lord to understand that you are coming soon to judge us. Lord, please allow us to help those who haven’t accepted you into their lives, and we pray that we can help others to be saved by your grace. In Jesus’ most precious name we pray, Amen.
