Great Lent -An Invitation for Transformation

Ezekiel 18: 25-32

Verse 25, starts off with a quoting stated by the people saying “The way of the Lord is unfair.” God gives Ezekiel the message to tell the people and ask “Is my way unfair? Is it not your ways that are unfair?” God was telling the people of Israel that they were being unfair. The people of Israel who were being punished and were exiled were not happy because they believed it was unfair that the lord punished them for what the previous generations had done. But the Lord is basically saying that they themselves have also committed the same sins, and are receiving punishment for it. God in his justice will punish those who sin, though it gives him no pleasure. God states that those who have committed sins when they turn away from righteousness will be punished. But those who come back and repent will be saved. He prefers that they repent of their sin and be forgiven; and to each person who repents, God will give eternal life.

God Forgives All

God offers to pardon us regardless of what we've done or how disobedient we've been because He loves us. Even though it makes absolutely no sense and we don't deserve it, God nevertheless loves us in spite of all of our transgressions. Forgiveness and salvation go hand in hand. You are entirely absolved of your entire debt to sin if you have received salvation, which is forgiveness of sin. According to Romans 10:9, if you actually acknowledge Jesus as Lord and firmly hold to the notion that God actually did raise him from the grave, you will be saved. The people of Israel have a chance to be saved from their punishments but instead they focus on criticizing God for what they are going through. This is very unfair on God because the Lord has made salvation very easy for each one of us.

Prayer
Lord, Thank you for showering your blessings and mercies on us everyday, thank you for saving us in times of need, and for being our strength and peace when we were weak. Lord thank you, for dying on the cross for our sins, even though we didn’t deserve it. Lord forgive us our sins for we have sinned against you and allow us to follow your straight path, praising your name. Allow this coming week to be a blessed one, be with us your children, and help those who are weak and in need, all this I pray in Jesus name. AMEN
