 The God who is with us during the crisis

Acts 27:9-26

Vs.22: But take courage! None of you will lose your lives, even though the ship will go down.

In Acts chapter 27 St. Paul describes a hurricane crisis during his journey from Caesarea to Rome as a prisoner. To start with by divine inspiration St. Paul advice the authorities of the ship about the impending disaster, but in the beginning things were relatively calm so the authorities did not heed to the advice of St. Paul. Remember God is beyond time. In vs19 - 20 we see the authorities became completely helpless, they even throw out the ship gear into the ocean. At this time of great difficulty authorities listen to St. Paul.

God almighty is present with us at every moment of our life not only in happy times but also in burning fiery furnace (Daniel 3:17-18), den of lion (Daniel 6:16-23), in the midst of hurricane, in every crisis. God created the world and He controls each element of it. In Mark 4:39 Jesus is ordering the wind and sea to calm down and they obey Him. Whenever believers face trouble in their life God is there if they pray to God with full faith and trust.

In this incident there were only 276 people total, but the whole nation of Israel was in the exodus from the slavery of Egypt to Canaan, when they face red sea in front and army of Pharaoh behind, (Exodus 14: 13-21). No human solution; Moses cried to God, God blessed them with solution to their life threatening crisis.

Personally I got into an auto accident few years back, God intervened and saved me. Even the defendant’s attorney remarked that 99% of time persons involved in such accidents and broke their neck get quadrupled and became wheel chair dependent, but not me God was close to me in my crisis.

God is close to those who cried to Him for help. In Psalm 145:18-19, psalmist says:
18The Lord is near to all who call upon Him,
To all who call upon Him in truth.
19 He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him;
He also will hear their cry and save them.

Prayer

Lord our God we praise you for being with us in all our difficulties, we pray to you for your continued presence with us in all our life, in the name of Lord Jesus Christ Amen.

Thought of the Day

"If we prayed as much as we worried, we'd have a lot less to worry about. Give God your worries " - Rick Warren
