The God who is with us during the crisis

Exodus 14:10-25

Vs.14 “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

Our God is faithful, he will never abandon us. He is with us in our adversities just as He was with Daniel’s friends in the fiery furnace and was with Joseph in the prison. He has a plan to prosper us and not to destroy us. Adversities and calamities are unavoidable; God does not prevent it, but builds our faith through it. He strengthens us to overcome the crisis in our life when we trust in him. Faith can move mountains.

In the given portion for today, we see that the Israelites were journeying to their Promised Land and on their way they are dismayed looking at their circumstances. They face the Red Sea ahead of them. On both sides are the mountains, and they cannot scale them. They are pursued by the Egyptian armies with horses and chariots. The Israelites cannot fight them nor can they swim across the sea. They felt trapped, with nowhere to flee. They were overwhelmed with fear. Amidst the challenging circumstances, their faith was shaken. They forgot the miracles God performed in Egypt to rescue them from slavery. If they remembered that, they would have had the faith to trust in His power to save them again. In the catastrophe, Moses encouraged the Israelites in the saving power of God with a positive attitude. He prayed in faith for the Lord’s intervention, rather than giving up.  The battle belongs to the Lord. God is a wonderful way maker, where there is no way. He divided the Red Sea for the Israelites to cross on dry ground and brought it to normal flow when the Egyptians followed them, thus drowning them. Thus He rescued the Israelites from their enemies.

Many times, we too start complaining like the Israelites when we face our issues in life rather than trusting in God. No matter what we are going through, Immanuel is with us amidst our crisis. He will not fail us. There is nothing impossible with Him. We must focus on God, and not on our negative circumstances. When fear knocks at the door, sent faith to open it. Fear will paralyze us, but faith will propel us. Overcome fear with faith. Our God is greater than our problems. He is able to get us through any situation. He has a solution for all our problems. He is a Master problem Solver, we can rely on him.  Our tests will become our testimony, when we place our trust in Him. We must lay our burdens on His shoulders; He is willing to carry it for us. Don’t panic. If God is for us, who can be against us? He loves us with an everlasting love. We must surrender ourselves and our problems into His mighty hands. God, who gave up His only begotten Son to save us, is with us in our crisis. He will not give up on us.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank you for our salvation. Enable us to trust you in all the circumstances of our life. Enable us to stand firm on your promises, knowing that you will never abandon us. Amen.

Thought of the Day

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭6‬ ‭
