Holy Communion: Healing of  Body and Soul

Genesis 22: 1-19
Vs.14: And Abraham called the name of the place, The-Lord-Will-Provide

Genesis, Chapter 22, verses 1 - 19 is an account of the tests of Abraham's faithfulness and submission to God. God asks Abraham to offer his only son as a burnt offering. The Bible portion for meditation is reflecting on two main thoughts.

1) Our CHOICE: It is said that life is a journey from 'B' to 'D' with a 'C' in between. Life begins with birth and ends with death but what defines how we live our life are the daily and the tiny choices we make. What guides the choices we make in our day-to-day life and even when we have to make important decisions such as choosing a life-partner or choosing a job? Can our choices be based on what God wants us to do? Do we pause and reflect for a moment what decision would God want us to take?

2) Our RESPONSE: Not every choice we make might turn out to be right. Some of our choices might lead to adverse consequences. Sometimes life might seem difficult when unforeseen and unexpected things happen to us. Our true test of faith is how we respond during the adverse situations of life. Do we become bitter and start cursing everyone else for the atrocity or do we accept the situation and try to bring something positive out of it. This definitely is difficult but never impossible. The way we accept and respond to unforeseen circumstances show the presence of God in our hearts.

Each day in the journey of a Christian is a step closer to doing the Will of God in our Choices and our Responses. Let us empower each other to grow in faith and never waiver when life seems difficult.

Prayer
Lord, give us the healing touch that we experience your presence and peace in our hearts, and we are able to extend it to everyone around us. Amen
