 Journey with the Risen Christ

Psalm 107:1-21
V. 13 – Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress.

This psalm reflects the unconditional love and care of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The main focus of this passage is in verse 13, “When they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress.” This verse highlights the love and power of Christ in our lives. God’s love for us is unchanging and it is through trust and reliance in the love of God that we are able to journey with Christ. 1 John 4:16 says, “And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.”

1) Love allows us to know God
It is through the love of Christ that we are able to know who God is and how much He truly cares. The unconditional love of God is seen on the Cross as Jesus died for our sins and it is through this love we can truly know our Lord.

2) Love allows us to rely on God
It is through the love of Christ that we can fully rely on the Lord no matter what the circumstance. In our journey as Christians, the love of Christ is unchanging and steadfast, we are able to rely on it at all times.

3) The love of God is what saves us.
It is through the love of Christ that we are saved and redeemed. The unconditional love was displayed on the Cross for all to see. From this, we realize that it is through this love that we are set free. In our life journey with Christ, we must continue to remember that the love of the risen Christ is what can carry us through anything we may face.

Prayer
Dear Lord, we thank you for the unconditional and amazing love that You have shown to us throughout our lives. We pray that in our daily journeys we remember Your love for us and walk with You. We praise You for all You have done for us and live our lives for You. In Jesus name, Amen.

Thought for the day:
Let us remember the love of Christ as we journey with Him throughout our lives. Let His love flow through us and may we spread it to the world around us.
