THE CHURCH THAT HAS TO BEAR WITNESS TO THE RESURRECTION

 2 Kings 4: 27-37
V:35   Then he returned, and walked in the house to and fro and went up, stretched himself upon him, and the child sneezed seven times, and the child opened the eyes.

This passage tells us the story of the Shunammite and Prophet Elisha's ministry in her life.  Let us understand the faith life of the Shunammite and her walk with the Lord.  A few lessons we learn from faith life are 1. Shunammite seems to be a well do person, but her financial stability could not insulate her from sin and trials of life, he had to learn to live by faith because “ without faith, it is impossible to please  God. 2.   she believed in God's word and supported the ministry of the Prophet.  The principle here is that our faith must have a sincere object, and dependence on the revelation of God.  We must progress our life of faith and grow in the grace and knowledge of Lord Jesus.  The Shunammite's faith grew, her faith demonstrated her desire to know the divine purpose.  She was willing to take a risk, and finally her dependence in the midst of her great sorrow as she sought her only solution in God when she lost her son.
Elisha looked into divine revelation in bringing back her son's life. He intervened and prayed to heaven which helped her son resurrect to life. We may not see immediate deliverance to our calamities as in the case of Shunnamite in receiving her son back t life, but in believing in Lord's compassion, love, and purpose we can find comfort, and hope. It was this hope that gave  Apostle paul the strength to risk his life for the ministry, regardless of what it might cost him.
The same God who answered Elisha's prayer to bring Suhunammite's son back to life resurrected Lord Jesus from the tomb for our salvation. It proved that he was a true son of God. Church believes in the resurrected Jesus because he is still reigning in heaven as a living God.  A witness is one who personally witnesses something he or she encounters, which can be testified to others.
Resurrected Jesus is the core of the Christian life, a church that cannot witness Him in true spirit and truth is not worthwhile.

Prayer
O Lord, who is crucified and resurrected for the church who is His bride, strengthen us in faith to accompany you all our life unconditionally and may lead us to eternal life. Amen.

Thought for the day:
Resurrection is the central doctrine of  Christianity, where believers share in His victory over sin death, and the devil.
