 My LORD And My GOD”

 John 20:19-29
Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have come to believe” – V. 29

The Passion and suffering of Jesus Christ brings us closer to the cross. A glimpse into His death through the liturgical prayers, we experience what His Heavenly Father desired for the whole Creation. One Ultimate Sacrifice, One Divine Plan, Oneness of heart with the Father’s Will, and death is defeated on Easter Day. Believing in this Divine Will of God the Father, believing in the Lamb of God the Son Jesus Christ, and being led by the Holy Spirit into the Father’s Master Plan for us makes all the difference.

When the mind is enlightened, darkness flees. Jesus just entered and said, “Peace be with you.” (John 20:21a). Allow the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ the True Light to enter into the dark corners of our life. Experience the Peace that he gifts us through the Holy Spirit each day. Rejoice every moment in this light and you shall then believe. You shall then experience the commissioning Trinity,“ As the Father has sent me, so I send you” (John 20:21b).

When Mother Teresa was called to leave Loreto Convent, which was a beautiful quiet peaceful place for service. She was led into the terrible noisy streets of Kolkata, to serve the poorest of the poor and the dying. Mother considered it as her vocation to sacrifice just as Christ did. We need to awaken our minds to this commission to go out as the Holy Spirit leads us. To forgive, to comfort, to serve in Christ’s love, that is the way to peace. Let us touch lives around us and experience Christ in these encounters. These human encounters are moments to experience Christ in all and to then truly believe and proclaim like the apostle Thomas, “ My Lord and My God” (John 20:28).

Thought of the day

Mother Teresa said: “It is always the same Christ who says:
I was hungry – for peace that comes from a pure heart.
I was thirsty – for peace that satiates the passionate thirst of passion for war.
I was naked – for the beautiful dignity of men and women for their bodies.
I was homeless – for a heart that understands, that covers, that loves.”

Prayer

Triune God, help us to experience You through our experiences with others around us. Help us to radiate your love and peace every day.
Amen.
