 Hosana “Lord Save us”

 Hebrews 5:12-6:20

Hebrews 6:19-20
“We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.”

The meaning of Jesus is Savior. Our hope is in Jesus Christ, our High Priest, who voluntarily and vicariously sacrificed himself on the cross for us. He is our kinsman Redeemer, by His shed blood we are liberated from our slavery to our sins. His priesthood is of the order of Melchizedek, the high priest and king of Shalom, who accepted tithe from Abraham and gave him bread and wine. The beginning and end of Melchizedek is not recorded in the Bible.
Jesus is our vicarious Christ, our Savior. He is the Alpia and Omega. He paid in full for the debt of sins that we owed and could not pay. The righteous Creator took upon himself the punishment of his creations, the punishment we deserve and appeased the Father’s justice. The innocent was punished and the guilty is set free.
2nd Corinthians chapter 5, verse 21 tell us “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” Jesus became our scapegoat. Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins. Jesus did not shrink from physical suffering and death, on the contrary he took the indescribable agony of our sins on himself. He did not waver in his determination to fulfill the Father’s will. He saved us from eternal damnation and gave us eternal life.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank you for sending Jesus on earth as a vicarious atoning sacrifice for our sins. We glorify you for our salvation. In Jesus name. Amen.
