 Christ who gives Hopeful Vision

Micah 7: 7-20

In Micah 7:7-20 Micah talks about a very chaotic society. All around him, he sees a society that is in a state of moral decay. Gang warfare is widespread, and lawbreakers buy protection from judges. Rich businessmen and other influential persons bribe government officials to cooperate with them in their evil plans. Even the best of them cannot be trusted. Treachery and deceit are so widely practiced that people cannot trust even their friends and relatives.

Has society learned from its mistake? Thousands of years later nothing has changed. We have daily challenges, temptations, and worries that we cope with. We are living in a time of pandemics and a world on the verge of a major war. We worry about our finances, our children, and our loved ones. We worry about the decisions made by our elected leaders. Is there light at the end of the tunnel?

That light that we look for comes in the form of Jesus Christ and our faith in God.
In Psalms, we find solace in Chapter 121 where David writes “I lift up my eyes to the hills-- where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip-- he who watches over you will not slumber.

In Matthew 11:28, we see that Jesus is asking us to come to Him and give our burdens to Him and let Him take care of them. He is there for us, if only we look up to Him and reach out. It is hard because it is in our nature to be in control of our lives and solve our problems. Jesus in Matthew 6:34 tells us “Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one[a]cubit to his [b]stature?” If our Father in Heaven can provide them with what they need daily, are we not worth more than them?

It is important that we remain focused on our Lord and Savior and learn to let go of our worries and troubles, give them to Jesus and let Him provide us with what we need.  He knows when the time is right to provide us with what we need. We must have faith in His providence.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, as I humbly come to you, I pray you to hear my prayer and help me through the challenges I face each day. Give me the strength to let go of them and build faith in me to know that you will answer my prayers when the time is right. I know that I can do all things through You who strengthens me, so I plead for Your strength. It is only by Your grace that I can confront my daily challenges. Fill my heart with Your joy, peace, and love. I ask all this in the Mighty Name of our Savior, Amen.
