WORSHIP - which gives perfection to personhood

Isaiah 66: 19 - 24
Verse 20: "And they will bring all your brothers, from all the nations to my holy mountain in Jerusalem as an offering to the Lord - on horses, in chariots and wagons, and on mules and camels," says the Lord.

Isaiah, chapter 66 talks about the message that the Lord wanted His people in Israel to hear as they were repairing the temple in Jerusalem. If we read the first few verses of this chapter we can understand that God is reminding His people of His great majesty and that He cannot be confined in the four walls of a temple. Heaven is His throne and Earth is His footsteps.

The bible verses for us to meditate today are the last verses from the book of Prophet Isaiah. The key verse written is a dream and a desire of every faithful Christian who wants to share the joy of their relationship with God and help everyone experience it. God's people become missionaries and go out to all parts of the world bringing them together to worship Him.

The chapter conveys three significant messages.

  • A sign of gathering of God's people which is extended beyond the confines of Israelites
  • A sign of reward for those who believe in Him
  • A sign of judgment for those who rebel against Him
The question we need to ask ourselves is where do we want to be on that day. Among the regathered believers breaking all barriers of the society and experiencing the reward our Lord has set forth for us or among those judged to have rebelled against Him. It's all in the free will given to mankind by God. Our choices will decide our destiny. Let us uphold Lord and be those missionaries who bring together people towards God.

Prayer

Father, help us and prepare us for that day when you shall reward us. Help us be faithful servants bringing together mankind to worship you in wholeness. Amen.

Thought for the Day

As we get up in the morning and see the sun shining in the window, let us thank God that He has given us another day, a day in which we may have a chance to help somebody - Hazelden Betty Ford
