HEALING OF BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT –medical mission Sunday

Numbers 12: 1-12
Vs 7. My servant Moses is not so; he is faithful in all my house

Health and healing are God’s gifts. God can restore us when we are desperate, tired, and inflicted. He can heal us in miraculous ways. Those of us who presume to be healthy, and stout basically are blind and sick in God’s eyes, and we all need a healing of our body-mind, and soul today badly. Illness and afflictions are realities of the world. Despite advances in modern medicine and with the invention of a new pharmaceutical delivery system of medications we have not conquered many of the life-threatening diseases that affect us. The covid -19 pandemic is a good example where our scientists are all looking with awe to find a suitable remedy for this disease. The rampage and cry of the virus are still on, and we are all at our wit's end. It is in this context that the word of God and His commands appeal to us and do give a meaningful message. Gid has said if we are ready to turn away from our sins. humble ourselves and look unto his face for mercy, He is ready to listen and heal the nation. Healing thus becomes a reorientation of self in obedience to God and His will.
Isaiah 40:31 says “those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.” We need therefore the energy and strength from heaven for our wellbeing and healing. During ministry in the world, Jesus healed many who were deprived of healing. His compassionate touch transformed many blinds, many who had leprosy, and many possessed with demons. Many that were affected mentally, spiritually, and bodily were healed. Let us experience the touch of our master this morning and enjoy the healing and transformation in life we need. He is and is the only one who can break all the bonds that bind us.
In today’s portion for meditation, we see the rebellious nature of Israel's people against God and God’s anointed servant Moses. Even Miriam and Aaron the sister and brother of Moses also see starting to bicker and complain about Moses. They out of their jealousy found fault with Moses’s wife who was a Cushite woman and also Moses’s sole authority and special relationship with God. Sin predominates there and we see God punishing Miriam. God also certifies that Moses is the humblest man. Moses always stayed quiet and never stirred up a fight or quarrel. Miriam was punished by God with an akin disease, and she was held outcast for seven days. At the request of Aaron, we see Moses pleading to God to cure her which God did after seven days. To get the proper healing of our body and mind God wants us to be humble, God-fearing, and obedient to His word. Let us be sharing, caring, and loving our neighbor as ourselves and love our Lord with all our heart and soul. These are the two great commandments that the Lord wants us to practice to be His disciple, Men.

                                                Prayer
Lord make us humble as your great servant Moses. Help us to think less of ourselves and more often of others and lead a life that is pleasing to us and glorifying you. Let our life be a blessing to others, Amen.

Find greatness in serving others and finding others better than us,
