FESTIVAL OF UNITY OF THE COMMUNION OF CHURCHES IN INDIA

1 Chronicles 24:1-19

V. 19  "This was their appointed order of ministering when they entered the temple of the Lord............. the God Israel had commanded them"

Here in this scripture portion, we see that David reorganized the priestly duties among the descendants of Aron and the Levites. He divided them into 24 divisions, 16 for Eleazar and 8 for Ithamar. Each served in the temple for a week twice a year. In the new testament gospel of Luke, almost 1000 years later, Levite priest Zacharias was serving in the temple according to the division David had set up. David heard it correct from God since 1000 years later, God still was blessing the system David initiated.

When everyone knows, and keeps his place and work according to God's plan, there will be unity in Christ. Christ is the high priest over the church, where all believers were made to be in subjection. When we, the children of God be united together to sing his praises forever, heaven will rejoice.

Likewise, the Communion of churches in India, constituted in Nov 1999 as the visible organ for the joint expression of the life and witness by its member churches, viz; Church of North India, Church of South India, and the Mar Thoma Syrian church. They jointly proclaim as a part of the holy and apostolic church in India. The name CCI was adopted and named at the joint council meeting held in Calcutta in November 2000. These three churches are in full communion with one another. They mutually recognize each other's clergy, interpretation of the Bible, creeds, baptism, holy communion, and ministry. Prayer: Lord Jesus, as you, Father, and the Holy Spirit are one, in essence, you expect the body of believers in your holy church should remain as one in unity, praising God forever. Enable the global Church of Christ is one in Christ. Amen. Thought for the day. Lord, lead us into an opportunity where we can leave a lasting impact on someone else into eternity.

Prayer
Lord, help us join together as the Body of Christ and strengthen each other in faith. Amen.
