 CARRIERS   OF THE GOSPEL

Revelation 14:6-7
V6” Then I saw another angel flying in mid-heaven, with an eternal gospel to proclaim to those who live[a] on the earth—to every nation and tribe and language and people”.

St Paul had a vision of an angel taking the eternal gospel to ALL who live on the earth irrespective of their nationality, ethnicity, language, and race. Jonathan Swift (30 November 1667 – 19 October 1745), an Anglican priest who lived in the sixteenth century said “vision is the art of seeing what is invisible to others”. But our spirituality will help us to see that invisible. When I say spirituality, it is our relationship with God. When we relate to someone we ought to be sensitive to their feelings either be negative or positive, actions, reactions, moods, and countenance. We need to be able to hear and listen, speak and talk with that person. Otherwise, we lack not only in skills to relate to someone but also do not have life in our relationship.

In today’s context, our neighbors and others may not be able to see what is happening in the world of pandemics. But we as children of God are invited to see what others do not see, hear what others do not hear through this scripture. We are invited to see the angel’s visitation to the nations and hear their shouting. This is one of the angels of the three that we read in Revelation chapter fourteen. The others warn of the eternal death and falling of the kingdoms.

Well, we hear and see death on a regular basis, unceasingly because of pandemics. The question is, are we able to hear the voice of the first angel that speaks of eternal good news. The news of the death of an unbeliever for a believer is an invitation for us to join the multitude of angels who are looking for you and me to take this gospel to the dying unbelievers. We could take the place of an angel and offer an invitation to an unbeliever to enter into a covenant, relationship with eternal God who is invisible so that death does not end their eternal life here on earth. At the age of fourteen, I was at a suicide point but wanted to pray before attempting to die. I said to God “I do not want to go to hell because this world is hell for me but give me heaven. “God graciously saved me and gave me the job of the angel and that is to take the gospel to different language groups other than that of my own around the world.

We all have a lifetime mission to be an angel in the life of someone who needs good news in the midst of chaos around them. If you decide to be an angel today please pray with me.

Prayer
Lord, thank you for choosing me to be an angel to share the good news as a human-like me is in need to hear the eternal gospel in an angelic voice. Please bless me and use me as an angel. In the name of your Son and our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
