 Resurrection – celebration of life

John: 11 21-26

v. 25 Jesus said to her “I am the resurrection and the life, those who believe in me, even though they die, will live.”

Our hope for resurrection and eternal life is found only in Lord Jesus. The Bible teaches that we who are in Christ can expect resurrection from the dead. This truth gives all believers hope, confidence, joy which Jesus only can provide. Resurrected Christ is our hope, we celebrate his life because he lives today for us in heaven interceding with Father God.  He is our High Priest who is in heaven, and we can approach him with confidence. He had endured pain while being on earth, and knows our pains, sorrows, heartaches and depressions.  We see here Jesus is weeping over the death of Lazarus out of compassion, sorrow and pain that he could share with his family members.  Scripture points out that Jesus was tempted as we are, yet he did not sin. Therefore, we can boldly go to the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and grace at the time of our need.

When Jesus said that He was the resurrection and life, it was not just a theological statement. Rather, he made it plain and clear to everyone around that He is the only one who can conquer death and the life-giving spirit is with him.  So, Easter Sunday is a celebration of His life to all who is in Christ. It is His assurance to everyone who believes in him and his resurrection, that he has triumphed over death and earned redemption from sins for us.  Jesus said, those who are in him, though physical death is inevitable, will get eternal life is gift out his grace and mercy. Because he lives, we too will live with him. When we celebrate His life and resurrection, it should become our daily experience.  God wants us to see the real meaning of hope in His son Jesus for those who place trust in Him forever.

.PRAYER
Lord Jesus, we are fortunate that we serve a Living God, who rose from the dead and have compassion and mercy on us during our trials in this world. You earned us salvation, forgiveness, and justification unto righteousness before the Father.
