Holy Ordination: Priest - Called for a divine ministry
Matthew 7:24-29
Vs24 Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.
The Bible passage shared above is Jesus Christ’s concluding words for His Sermon on the Mount. His parting words to the crowd are so powerful and moving. The parable of The Wise and Foolish Builders teaches us that His true followers are the ones who are living in simple obedience. Jesus is teaching us to not only listen to His words but put them into practice. He doesn’t expect us to be perfect rather consistent. John 4:15 reads, “If you love me, keep my commands”. This was His ultimate invitation to follow and obey Him.

In this parable, both houses experienced the storm, but only one remained standing.  This shows us that we will face trials and tribulations regardless if we follow Jesus or not. However,  if we follow Jesus and put His words into practice, He will give us the strength to withstand the storm.  Following Jesus isn’t easy and He knew this. That’s why He came down, humbled Himself into human form, experienced trials and temptations, and lived as our ultimate example.

PRAYER
Dear Heavenly Father, give us the strength to view our pain and struggles as blessings. Help us to perceive our storm as an opportunity to witness your transforming love. Bless us with the assurance that all things work together for Your good. Amen.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
“Difficulties and obstacles are God’s challenges to faith. When hindrances confront us in the path of duty, we are to recognize them as vessels for faith to fill with the fullness and all-sufficiency of Jesus”. – A.B. Simpson
