Feast of Pentecost: Holy Spirit, Renew the Creation
Psalms 29
Vs 11 “The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace.”
During the feast of Pentecost we remember the arrival of the Holy Spirit among the disciples. The Holy Spirit did not come quietly but like a mighty rushing wind (Acts 2:2). The Holy Spirit is a metaphysical reminder of God’s presence with us. In Psalm 29 we can see a progression with our relationship with God, followed by a reflection on His power and might, and ending with God’s relationship with us.
Every day it is our responsibility to worship God and be able to live a life worthy of Him. Part of that responsibility includes adoration of God and an understanding of His unwavering hand in our life. Philippians 4:6-7 states “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Although sometimes things do not go our way or we do not get the result we hoped for, we can always know that God is in control. He has a plan that we sometimes may not understand. But just as He makes “Lebanon leap like a calf, Sirion like a young wild ox” (Psalm 29:6)- He will always fulfill His promise to take care of His children.
For this, God will rule over us forever and through our faith we will have strength to overcome obstacles. Living life is not about avoiding challenges but being able to face them and grow from them in a manner that not only benefits ourselves but those around us.
 PRAYER
Help us, O Lord, to always trust in You. We pray that we always remember You are with us and that we should not be afraid or anxious about anything.
