Forgiving Christ
Genesis 4:8-16
Vs 13 "My punishment is too great to bear".
Genesis 1 and 2 describes how God created the universe and everything in it simply by saying: "God said....and it was, so"(1:6-7,9,11,14-15). Humans received special handling as "God formed man of the dust of the ground ,and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life"(2:3) , and woman was crafted from a rib of man. Those first two people, Adam and Eve, lived in perfection but ruined paradise by disobeying God at the urging of a subtle serpent. Sin throws humans into a moral free fall as the world's first child, Cain, murders his brother Abel. The Lord said unto Cain, “Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother's keeper?” (4:9). Don't we all do the same when it comes to our share of sin pointed out to us by someone through the Holy Spirit, instead of taking the responsibility and turn back to our Sovereign Lord for forgiveness?

From the first chapter of Genesis, where God created human being, through the last chapter of Revelation,  where God  welcomes anyone to "take the water of life freely"(Rev.22:17), the Bible proves  that God is intimately  involved  and is concerned  about the lives of people, his creation .GOD LOVES YOU AND ME. His amazing love is shown in the death of his Son, Jesus Christ on the cross. That sacrifice for the sin of humanity allows anyone to be right with God through simple faith in Jesus the Christ. LORD' s condemnation of sinners and His love for humanity are both essential to his nature and are not at odds with each other. He hates sin while at the same time loving the people He created. God described himself to Moses as compassionate, gracious, slow to anger, abounding in loving kindness and truth (Exodus 34:6). Jesus said, “Come to me, all who weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest"(Matthew 11:28). God's comfort awaits everyone who turns from sins and comes to His feet for eternal salvation.

God forgave Cain and didn't punish when he realized his sin (v13) "my punishment is too great to bear". Regardless of Cain's rebellion and  punishment for his sin, God was compassionate when Cain feared an attack from his enemies. God protected him (15) and gave a sign as a mark for Cain, so that no one will find and slay him". Our heavenly father who created all, knows everything, even what is in our heart. We cannot hide from God nor fool Him. He is waiting patiently for us to come back to Him and to live in perfect union with him. Dear friends, what is holding you back? It is never too late to say, "I am sorry", for God's love can save us from his anger.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I am surrendering all to you, my sins, my worries, pain, and I am laying them at the  cross Please forgive me. Cleanse me and make me pure and white as snow. Amen
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
