Word for the day by Christian Education Forum
Importance
of Prayer in our Daily Life
Philippians 4:6-7
Vs.
6 Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication
with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
Prayer has lots of importance
in our daily life. Prayer is the life-line to God. Prayer connects us to our
Heavenly Father. When we start our day with prayer, it refreshes our whole day.
We need to remember that God is in control of everything in our lives. He knows
us inside and out. He knows all our strength and weaknesses. Nothing happens to
us in our life without His knowledge. Every one of us has up and downs in our
life but when we pray and trust in Him, He gives us strength to overcome the
difficulties in our life situations. Nothing is impossible with Him. As in
Philippians 4: 6 says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every
situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to
God.” We spend a lot of time worrying about many things but when we give
all our worries into His hands, He will give us the peace that passeth
all our understandings. The world does not give us peace, only God can bring
peace in our life.
As children of God, daily
prayer should be our top priority. It will make us feel like we are walking
with God. God wants us to be closer to Him and to put our trust in Him. Prayer
is power and can change anything according to the will of our Heavenly Father.
When we read and learn the word of God, we can see lots of examples about the
power of prayer. For example, when the people of Nineveh prayed to God, He saw
what they did and how they turned from their evil ways, He relented and did not
bring on them the destruction He had threatened. When we pray we have to
believe that we will get an answer to our prayers.
As in 1 Thessalonians 5: 17
says, “Pray without ceasing”. We should pray without ceasing. Prayer can
change our life situation. Prayer brings peace and happiness in our life. Be
thankful to Him for all that He has done in our lives. Prayer is also an
act of worship, because by praying we are showing how much we adore Him.
PRAYER
Our
Heavenly Father, we praise You and worship You. Thank You for all the blessings
in our life. Lord, help us to be closer to You and trust You all the time.
Strengthen us to pray without ceasing. Lord, give us a thankful heart to serve
You and be faithful to You. Thank you for hearing our prayer. In Jesus name we
pray. Amen
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
“Rejoice
always, pray without ceasing, and give thanks in all circumstances; for this is
the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” (Thessalonians 5:16-18)
