Sing Praise to the God of Salvation
1 Timothy 1: 12-17

Vs. 17 But for that very reason I
was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display
his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and
receive eternal life.
Rev Henry
Covington (1957-2010) was once a drug dealer and spent seven years in jail. He
committed many crimes, but his life was dramatically changed when he gave his
life to Christ. Through ‘I am my brother’s keeper’ ministry, he cared for the
poorest and homeless in Detroit. Like Paul the apostle, he was shown mercy,
grace was poured on him abundantly and he lived his life with boldness in
Christ.
Many a times,
our past can keep us in bondage. We may think that God could never forgive or
accept us. But consider the past of Paul, who had persecuted and murdered
followers of Christ. He was forgiven by God and used in mighty ways in the
Kingdom of God. Let us not be slaves of our past, but accept forgiveness and
live boldly for Christ!
Vs 15”Christ
came into the world to save sinners”. There is no sin that is too grave to be
forgiven! When our lives are transformed, Christ is glorified!
We
are often worried about sharing our struggles with our fellow believers-we
worry about how it will affect our image. However, when we share the magnitude
of mercy shown to us, we become an example and encouragement to those around
us. Let us share loudly the Grace of our Lord that has been poured on us
abundantly!
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, thank You
for Your Grace and mercy. Thank You that no matter what our past is, when we
call upon You, You accept us as we are. Thank You for Your love, Your
forgiveness. Help us to live our lives boldly. Amen.

Therefore, if anyone
is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!2 Corinthians 5:17
