Taste and See the Lord is Good.
Hebrews 1

Jacob Koshy
Epiphany MTC, NY

“The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word.”  v3                                           -

The relationship of a father to his son is definitely a special thing. Fathers are their sons first hero’s! The strongest person in the world! The one who shares and cares in all the excitement of life! Surely the early years of fatherhood seem quite rewarding for all the praise it undeservedly brings.

The passage we examine from Hebrews and in Chapter 1, identifies Jesus as the Son of God. He is described as the radiance of God’s glory, such that it would illuminate the hearts and souls of all mankind, and so exacting in His representation of God’s being, the character of whom would be so aligned to the Father that in Him would be no sin.

This first chapter in Hebrews goes to great lengths to define the superiority of Christ’s person. His exaltation above ALL angels in heaven. The uniqueness and quality of the relationship He had with His Father. Of all the names in Heaven and on Earth, none was greater than His. God appointed Him heir to all the created order, and through Him all creation found its existence. The unique separation yet oneness of this relationship between the Father and the Son, gives credence to Christ’s divinity.
During this Christmas season, let us remember the Son. The one who was born of a woman, born under the law, so that He might redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. “Therefore you are no longer a slave, but a son; and if a son, then an heir through God.” – Gal 4:7
“For to which of the angels did God ever say, “You are my Son: today I have become your Father?” Through the atoning sacrifice of Christ Jesus, God  extends His loving arms to all mankind and adopts us into the Sonship in Christ. We have a unique opportunity to radiate God’s glory and to be God’s representation to the earth! Hosanna in the Highest!

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank You for adopting us as sons into an eternal Sonship through Christ. Amen.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
"So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith.” -    Galatians 3:26.
How wonderful to be called children of God!
