How often do we take time out of our schedules to spend time with God? How often do we stray away from Him and do things our own way according to our wishes instead of God’s plan for us? Joyce Meyer says, “Spending time with God is the key to our strength and success in all areas of life. Be sure that you never try to work God into your schedule, but always work your schedule around Him.” All that we have in this world comes from Him, and though God has showered us with blessings, if we make sure that we keep God in our lives at all times, He will accept us into His kingdom and shower us with even greater blessings. “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33).

Luke 14:15-24 describes the parable of the banquet where a man planned a great feast and invited many people, but when it was time for the guests to arrive, each of them made excuses as to why they could not come. Then the owner of the house became angry and said to his slave, ‘Go out at once into the streets and lanes of the town and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind, and the lame'. So the invitation, welcome  and offer of free grace and mercy of God is not limited to a few, the rich and the great, as some believe, but to the poor and the downtrodden too. This is the same way it will be when God comes to this earth to judge us. Will we go to God’s banquet in heaven or will we make excuses that we are too busy with worldly desires? Only those  who spend time thanking God for all He has done  and use their knowledge of God to spread the good Word to others will be able to come and enjoy God’s everlasting treasures in heaven. “Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to.” (Luke 13:24). Every day, we must spend time in deep worship and prayer because God has reserved a place for all of us in His kingdom and it is our choice whether or not to accept His invitation

PRAYER

Father God, help us to put our faith and trust in You. Guide us and give us strength so that we can humbly obey Your Word and enter through the narrow door into Your kingdom. Amen.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
“When you rise in the morning, give thanks for the light, for your life, and for your strength. Give thanks for your food and for the joy of living. If you see no reason to give thanks, the fault lies in yourself.” - Tecumseh
