Holy Ordination: A Fragrance to Christ

8 I desire, then, that in
every place the men should pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or
argument;
Worshipping God is such an uplifting experience. When
we let the Holy Spirit into our hearts, we can feel the Spirit of God in our
lives - through all our hardships, pain, and discomfort. There is no wrong way
to praise God for all the wonderful blessings He provides, but there are
instructions for worship. We must pray for and give thanksgiving to all
those in authority such as priests, teachers, professors, presidents, and prime
ministers so that we may live a life free of violence, and we may live a life
full of peace and goodness. When we pray for others, it pleases God. God wants
everyone to be saved and join them in a life full of knowledge and truth,
a life that is eternal. In order for us to be saved from perishing, He
sent Jesus Christ to pay a ransom for our sins, because He loves us. Therefore,
we must show back our love by worshipping God- lifting our hands up, singing
words of praise, and allowing ourselves to experience God’s presence among us.
The passage also says for us to dress modestly while worshipping. When we are
in front of the Lord, there is no need to impress Him with fancy clothing or
jewellery. We should clothe ourselves with good deeds and righteousness. 1
Chronicles 16: 23-25 states: “Sing to the LORD, all the earth; proclaim his
salvation day after day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous
deeds among all peoples. For great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; he is
to be feared above all gods.” It is so important to praise and worship God in
the way that is right for Him so that we can show our appreciation for His
endless love and goodness to us. We can start by thanking Him for giving us
life and the opportunity to learn more about Him in our church community.
PRAYER
Beloved Father, we pray that
You accept our prayers and petitions with open arms. We pray that as we
worship, You will be there in our midst. Help us to learn more about You and
praise You with all our heart, mind, and soul. Thank you for all the blessings
You have showered upon us in our lives. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
What are some ways
we can worship and please God in our daily actions?
