14 Do not be mismatched with unbelievers. For what partnership is there between righteousness and lawlessness? Or what fellowship is there between light and darkness?

This passage in the Bible reminds us of how important it is for us to keep our focus on the Lord. It’s a reminder that we should not stray away from what is right. It tells us that we shouldn’t be involved with people or worldly things that may take us down a wicked path. It asks us what does righteousness and wickedness have in common and the answer is easy. There is nothing in common, so we should remind ourselves of that every day. Whether it is in our personal lives, work, school, etc, we should always remember that we are all here in this world to do good and not create evil. Why do we want to be surrounded by people or possessions that only distract us from what is righteous? We should be allowing ourselves to grow and learn from one another, which can establish a firm foundation towards the true mission in our lives.
We are the temple of the living God, so what we do represents who we are. It is important for us to be grounded in what we believe in just as the temple of God is grounded and stands upwards from a strong foundation. We, ourselves, give the spiritual life to the temple that is built by our passion and faith. We must continue that on as we grow stronger within our lives and our own communities.  2 Corinthians 6 vs. 16 says “….I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.” This verse represents how God is with us in our everyday lives. It is important to remind ourselves that God is there for us in every decision we make, whether it be good or bad.  He is there to protect us and guide us to the truth. Whenever we may stray away from His path, He will guide us back and allow for us to learn from our mistakes. This passage shows us to open our hearts to the Lord, who leads us towards His heavenly footsteps.

PRAYER

Lord, help us all as we continue to live our lives through You. We pray that we follow in Your path and not be misguided by distractions that can veer us away from You. Amen
 THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
We need to find God, and He cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature - trees, flowers, grass- grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence... We need silence to be able to touch souls.”  - Mother Teresa
