10 so that you may lead lives worthy of the Lord, fully
pleasing to him, as you bear fruit in every good work and as you grow in the
knowledge of God.
As a youngster, “Walk worthy of the Lord” has been a key verse as I started my journey with the Lord. This was implanted into me through a VBS theme very early on, and as I grew and committed myself to the Lord, this theme became a challenge to bear a true witness to the calling.
As we can see in vs. 10 & 11, there are three areas where we could challenge ourselves to be fruitful in a life living worthy for the Lord. Bearing fruit in every good deed; Growing in the knowledge of God; Being strengthened.

As we can see in vs. 10 & 11, there are three areas where we could challenge ourselves to be fruitful in a life living worthy for the Lord. Bearing fruit in every good deed; Growing in the knowledge of God; Being strengthened.
As
we ponder about how this can be achieved, we are made aware that the Holy
Spirit is the source of all Christian love. It is therefore the Holy Spirit
that will undoubtedly strengthen us to bear fruit. As we submit ourselves to be
used as a vessel, God will use us to bear much fruit for His Kingdom.
To
bear much fruit,, we will be required to continue to grow in the word of God.
This will help us to know our Lord intimately and personally. Without
fail, when we grow spiritually, by default it should lead to sharing the gospel
and telling others about the Saviour. When we are touched by God-gifted Grace,
be it during good or painful situations, we will end up being living
testimonies for His Kingdom.
Finally we need to be strengthened, as we are constantly involved in
conflicts, be it moral or spiritual with forces more powerful than what we can
imagine. As we read in 1st Samuel, Chapter 17, we can see all sorts of battles,
which can be applied in our day to day life today. But in all this our assurance
is from the completed work of Christ who has defeated Satan. To defeat evil, we
have to constantly look up to Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our
faith.(Heb 12:2)There are lots of signs to suggest, that our Lord's coming is near. Let us therefore prepare and live a life worthy of the calling, and be instruments in spreading the Gospel, wherever we have been placed.
PRAYER
Lord, help us to live according
to Your will, worthy of Your calling and bear much fruit for Your kingdom.
Amen.
