Preparing for the Omnipotent God
Psalms 139

Stacy Mathew

St. John’s MTC, NY

14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; that I know very well."

Three words that are often used to describe God all start with “Omni”, a Latin word  which means “all”:
“Omniscient  – God is all knowing
“Omnipresent” – God is present everywhere
“Omnipotent” – God is all powerful
All these attributes of God are found in Psalm 139.

The title of Psalm 139 is God’s Perfect Knowledge of Man. There is absolutely no limit to the power of God. God has created us in His image yet we are distinct from each other. God did this for a specific reason. He created us and everything perfectly in His own hands. God’s works are marvellous. He designed and created us intricately, with passion and drive, therefore, we can’t disguise ourselves or hide from God. He knows our desires, thoughts, dreams and ambitions. He created each one of us with a purpose. His plans are in motion before we were born and will go on even after we join Him in our home above.

We may have read that humans share 50% DNA with… bananas. It’s amazing to see how something so small like DNA can differentiate species, or in this case with what we eat. In our classrooms we learn about the human body and the different processes and functions of cells and systems. Even though there was a lot of conceptual learning and memorization, the fact in how each cell works with each other, even in the creation of a new human is truly amazing. Only God, the master designer can truly create us humans in such marvellous way. So it is imperative that we have to use our body, the temple of God ( 1 Corinthians 3:16) and the talents He has given each one of us for His glory . So let us lead a life pleasing to God wherever He has placed us in this world, as the way of godliness is pleasing to God and helps us to attain eternal life.

PRAYER

Father, help us to realize that Your glory is above all else. Help us to understand that You created us with a purpose. Amen.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
You are loving, You are wise. There’s nothing in my life You cannot revive… there’s nothing too hard for our God. – “Nothing is Wasted” by Elevation Worship
