Creation Proclaims the Glory of God

22 The Lord created me at the beginning of his work, the first of his acts of long ago. 3 Ages ago I was set up, at the first, before the beginning of the earth.

“In this world it is not what we take up. But what we give up that makes us rich” –Henry Beecher

We wake up each morning getting ready for the day ahead. We step outside and just go about our day, but how many times do we actually take the time to look around and be thankful for the beauty around us? The only time we might take notice is when everything looks so scenic and we revel in its beauty. When we hear about natural disasters around the world we fear its power. When we gaze in the sky, space, or sea we are awed by its mystery because of what we can’t yet see. There are so many emotions when it comes to experiencing God’s creation and it proclaims his glory. “God made all of His creation to give. He made the sun, the moon, the stars, the clouds, the earth, the plants to give. He also designed His supreme creation, man, to give. But fallen man is the most reluctant giver in all of God’s creation.” –John MacArthur. How true is that statement? When we think about creation we never really think about our fellow human being as being a part of creation. If that’s the case are we proclaiming the glory of God through us?

God created man as the crown of his creation to take care of the rest of his creation. When we look around us what has man given to creation and what has he taken away. It seems like we take away much more than we give and we see the evidence all around us. It’s not just about giving back to the environment and taking care of it, but giving to our fellow human being. Just as Christ gave himself to us so that we may be saved, we must give ourselves to others so that they may see the love of Christ. We proclaim God’s glory by being his living witnesses of his grace, mercy and love.

God gave man the responsibility to take care of creation and that doesn’t mean just the earth, but taking care of each other as well. When we look to our fellow human beings we each have the beauty of creation within all of us. We were created uniquely and beautifully, He knew who we were before we came into being. He knew his plans for us and the journey we would take on the road ahead of us. He asks us not only to love Him and ourselves but to show that same commitment Christ made to us to those around is as well. We as His creation and we proclaim His glory through our actions.

PRAYER

Our Heavenly Father, we thank you for the creation around us to be able to experience its beauty and mystery every day. We ask that you help us give ourselves to each other so that all will know your love and grace. We are created in your image and help us not to tarnish that image but use it for the glory of your kingdom. Amen

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Man was given the responsibility to take care of creation. Let us take care of others so that we are not rich in the world, but rich in the soul and spirit
