Walking with the Lord
“Am I now trying to win the approval of men or of God, or am I trying to please men. If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ”. (10).

We are saved by the Grace of God and kept by His Grace. We must continue to walk in Grace daily. When we know that we are led by the Lord, we can follow Him without doubting. When we have that kind of faith, we will also be able to boldly say as Mary said, “I am the Lord’s servant, and may it be done to me according to your word”. Luke 1:38. It is said that, “a man is known by the company he keeps”. Bad Company corrupts good morals. I Cor. 15:33. To resist evil, we must walk with the Lord and wear the full armor of God; the belt of truth, breast plate of righteousness, feet sandaled with readiness for the gospel, shield of faith, helmet of salvation, sword of the spirit which is God’s word. When we imitate God, we will be able to manifest Christ like character.  When we walk with Jesus in love as children of light, He will give us the discernment to know what is pleasing to Him.

Jesus showed us the way of servant leadership. We should keep our eyes open to search for opportunities to serve. It is said that, “the best sermons are lived, not preached”. Hence our conduct will be the best sermon we will ever preach.

Walk in the power of the spirit: When we do that, we will be able to exhibit the fruit of the spirit, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
Walk in love: We should walk in love as Christ loved us and gave himself for us.
Walk in the light: Lord expects his children to lead a holy life, as He was holy.
Walk in wisdom: “Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom”. Pray earnestly to be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit to follow His word and His will.
Walk with decency as in the day light.
Walk free: “Where the spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom”. 2 Cor. 3:17. As the servants of the Lord, live freely, but we should not misuse our freedom to do evil.
Walk by faith, not by sight. 2 Cor. 5:7. Walking by faith is to align ourselves with the Lord and not with our circumstances.
Walk in service with Christ: For us to bear spiritual fruits, we should be connected to the vine, Jesus Christ.
Walk worthy of the calling we have received with all humility, gentleness, patience, accepting one another in love, keeping unity of the spirit and the peace that binds us.
Most of us have heard the story of the “footprints in the sand”. A man had a dream.  As he walked along the beach with the Lord, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand, one belonging to him and the other to the Lord, except during the most troublesome times of his life; he saw only one set of footprints. He was upset about it, but the Lord responded that he saw only one set of footprints during his troubles only because it was then that the Lord carried him.

Prayer: Lord, we thank you that you have sent your son, Jesus as our co-traveler, who can sympathize with all our weaknesses as He was also tempted in every way as we are, yet remained sinless. Help us to come to your presence to plead for mercy and grace at all times. Amen

Thought for the Day: God wants to walk with us; Are we willing to walk with Him?
