Blessedness of being righteous
Psalms 1

Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night.” (Ps.1:1)
Here we have the Psalmist encouraging us as the ‘blessed’ ones who does not walk, stand or sit among the ungodly. We need discernment in these last days to stand for our Lord, if we are in the council of the ungodly it won’t be long before we call good evil and evil good. The admonition of the psalmist starts with a blessing to those who have kept their way pure! This is hard to find in our generation today, let us be that remnant that still has not bowed our knees to the god of this age, but to the Lord. It not only is a blessing to himself but to his family and church as well, as one who’s delight is in the Word of God. You will not find many who delights in God’s word today or meditates upon the scriptures.
The one who does it will be one planted by steams of water which yields it’s fruit in ‘season’. What the psalmist is telling us is that once we are cultivated by God’s word we are being made ready for harvest season, see sometimes we might not see the fruit right away because the Lord is preparing and cultivating us by his word for the appointed time. But how can we be ready to bear fruit for the Lord during his harvest, if we don’t invest time in his word. The psalmist says meditate not quickly glance over, to  meditate meaning contemplation and deep reflection, the one who does this will have his spiritual field ready and plowed for the Lord to plant his word as a seed so that it may bear much fruit! Not so much the wicked or ungodly meaning those whose foundations are built on the lusts and the pleasures of this life other than the Word of God. For them on the Day of Judgment will quickly wither or fall away and will not have anything solid to stand upon.
Beloved let us keep ourselves pure from this wicked generation to be the salt and light of Jesus so others can see his Glory and Praise our Father in heaven!

Prayer: Lord God grant us the grace to walk in your way and away from the way of wicked. Let us experience the blessedness of being righteous in today’s world. Amen
